The property is located on Lasqueti Island in British Columbia, Canada, 65 miles north-west of Vancouver BC. Lasqueti lies between the mainland and Vancouver Island, with its largest neighbour being Texada Island. Lasqueti is appx. 14 miles long by 4.5 wide with a population of ~400 people.  It has a school to grade 8, a fire department, art gallery, community hall, store, pub, hotel, high-speed internet service and post office. The population is eclectic, eccentric, artistic, self reliant and has a very supportive community spirit. The island is surrounded by many smaller islands appx. half which are parks, with Jedediah the largest park at 670 acres.
